Privacy Policy

Note+ is a notes-and-calendar app for schoolteachers. Because the records it holds can include students' names, we state plainly, up front, what we take and what we do not.

What you write never reaches the developer.

Note contents, student names, schedule entries, observation records — all of it stays on your own device and in the storage you connect yourself (such as your own Google Drive). It does not pass through the developer's servers, and the developer has no means of reading it.

1. Where your records are stored

Records are stored in a file on the computer where the app is installed.
If you turn on sync, the app reads and writes a single file, noteplus-sync.json, inside a Note+ folder in your own Google Drive. That file lives in your Drive and only you can reach it.
The Drive permission the app requests is drive.file, which exposes only files this app created. Your other Drive files are not visible to the app at all.

2. What we do with your Google account

Google sign-in happens on your device, with your own account. The access granted is stored on that device only and is never transmitted to the developer's servers.

`openid` · `email`	To tell signed-in accounts apart. Used only to display your account address on screen.
`drive.file`	To create, read and update the single sync file. No other file is accessible.
`calendar.events`	Only if you turn on Google Calendar sync. Reads your events into the app and writes events you enter in the app back to your calendar.

Limited Use of Google user data

Note+'s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

Data obtained from Google Calendar and Google Drive is used solely to provide or improve the user-facing feature that the user asked for.
We do not use it for advertising and do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
No humans read it. Neither the developer nor anyone else reads the data, except with the user's explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and de-identified.
We do not sell or transfer it to third parties.

3. Anonymous usage counting

To learn how many devices and how many people use the app, the distribution site receives two randomly generated identifiers when the app connects. They are random strings, unrelated to any name, email address, or record content.

Sent	What it is
`X-Noteplus-Device`	A random identifier generated once per device and stored locally. Used to count devices.
`X-Noteplus-Owner`	A random identifier per user, so that one person using several devices is counted as one person.
Timestamp	Time of last connection, used to count "people active in the last 30 days".

What is never sent: the contents of your records (notes, schedule entries, student names), your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personally identifying information. Counts are kept only as aggregate figures and cannot be used to single out an individual.

4. Disclosure to third parties

The developer does not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose any user information to third parties. Services that you connect yourself in order for the app to work (Google Drive, Google Calendar) are governed by their own providers' policies.

5. Retention and deletion

Your records live on your device, so deleting them in the app deletes them. Notes in the trash are emptied automatically after 30 days.
Deleting the Note+ folder in your Google Drive removes the sync file. Disconnecting Google in the app's settings revokes that device's access immediately.
You may withdraw Note+'s access at any time from your Google account at Account → Security → Third-party apps.
Anonymous usage counts are retained only as cumulative figures. Because they cannot be linked to an individual, they are not subject to individual deletion.

6. Children's information

Note+ is a work tool used by teachers and is not directed to children as users. A teacher may record students' names, but those records never leave the teacher's device and are not transmitted to the developer. Please follow your institution's rules when handling student information.

7. Security

All communication with Google is encrypted over HTTPS.
Sign-in uses standard OAuth 2.0 with PKCE; the app never sees or stores your password.
The app offers a screen lock (auto-lock) to reduce exposure of your records while you are away from your desk.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, such as an increase in what is collected, we will also notify you inside the app.
